Saturday Girl About Town is a pop up portrait studio on the high streets of Burnley, Redcar, Blackpool and Wigan. On Saturdays in 2021/22 we are inviting young women and fashionable folks in town to show off their style and be photographed. The project explores the style, fashion and bodily self expression of towns across Northern England.
There is a local creative programme that is designed with local input and knowledge through youth interns, educators, local creatives and local authority. Included are talks and opportunities for involvement through the programme and exhibition.
